We are often asked at Swansea Bay Sports Park (SBSP), what health and fitness facilities does Bay Campus have? And do you really think we’d leave them without? Of course not! We have a range of facilities available to SBSP members and the local community. We’re going to run through the facilities we have on the campus throughout this blog but if you want to check them out for yourself, keep your eyes peeled on social media for our next open day or get in touch with them to ask for a quick tour.
Not sure how to get to the Bay Campus? You can travel by car and use one of the pay and display car parks available, or there is access via bus too – First Cymru’s number 8, 9 and 10 travel between the two campuses so try jump on one of these!
So, let’s get down to it. The Bay Campus facilities include:
Sport Swansea Bay Gym
The gyms are based in Talacharn building , so perfectly positioned between the halls of residence. This not only perfect for the students who are based on campus but also is a short walk away from both car parks available. If you’re still not sure where it is, it’s based opposite the laundrette!
The Sport Swansea Bay gym is split into two, with one area focusing mainly on strength training with a range of free weights available and the second area features a mixture of cardio and weight machines. We have everything you need for an effective gym session, including space to stretch.
Evolve Classes
Did you know our Evolve classes started at the Bay Campus? Due to the success, we decided to take the concept over to our Singleton site too.
We have different classes throughout the week, offering you opportunities to train in different ways. So, whether you want a strength session or need more of a cardio blast, there is something for you. Check out the current timetable for both the Bay and Singleton gym here.
Sports Swansea Sports Hall
Our sports hall can be used for a range of activities and can be booked via the booking portal online or via the SBSP app. The space offers indoor training options for sports teams, as well as space to play sports including basketball, badminton and table tennis.
MUGAs
We also have MUGAs available to use on the Bay Campus which overlook the beach. MUGAs are “Multi-Use Games Areas” which are ideal for recreational football, rugby and other ball sports. These can be booked to use, so if you’re looking for a new place to train with your sports team, or just want a space for a kick about, get in touch with the team to find out our availability.
Hopefully that gives you a better idea of what Sports facilities are available at the Bay Campus. The best thing is, as with all our facilities, it’s not just for students. At Swansea Bay Sports Park, everyone is welcome; whether you’re an ex-student or a member of the local community. If you’d be interested in seeing our facilities in person, get in touch with a member of the team today to arrange a tour – we’d love to show you around! Thinking of becoming a member? Check out our membership options, we have something for everyone.
